My first experience of meditation was when I was about 7 or 8. I was living in Japan and one of the local zen temples offered "zazen" workshop to local kids during Summer break. I didn't fully understand what was going on, but it was such an interesting experience as a child. Though zazen is quite unique and I don't currently practice it regularly, I appreciate practice of meditation in general.
